UBTECH was founded in 2012, 12 years before most Chinese humanoid companies now in the market. Walker S2 is the product of that 13-year development foundation: four generations of Walker predecessors, thousands of enterprise customer interactions, and the commercial relationships that distinguish a serious industrial supplier from a well-funded startup. When Airbus signed a procurement agreement for Walker S2 units in European aircraft assembly in 2026, it was not a demonstration pilot. It was a qualification decision against AS9100 quality management, EASA regulatory requirements, and zero-tolerance FOD prevention standards, the hardest manufacturing environment any Chinese humanoid has been validated for.

200 pre-built task modules cover common manufacturing operations: bin-picking, fixture loading, transport, inspection, fastener installation. New task commissioning with existing modules: 2-4 hours. New task requiring module development: 1-2 weeks, 5-10x faster than conventional robot reprogramming.
Co-Agent: Multi-Robot Fleet Coordination
Co-Agent coordinates 10-20 Walker S2 units in shared workspaces. From the MES, the entire fleet appears as a single work center, task allocation, traffic management, load balancing, and escalation handled automatically. Integration interfaces identical to single-robot deployment: OPC-UA and MQTT. Walker S2 is the first industrial humanoid with built-in multi-robot fleet management at commercial scale.
Siemens Teamcenter Digital Twin
Each Walker S2 has a Siemens Teamcenter digital twin recording component history, maintenance status, software version, and calibration data. Every task writes a completion record to both the robot twin and the production system simultaneously. This traceability architecture meets Airbus digital thread requirements, not just a robot that performs a task, but a robot that proves it performed the task to specification in the right system. Siemens is also providing production engineering to scale Walker S2 manufacturing to 10,000 units/year by 2027.
Airbus Aerospace Configuration
- End-effectors for aerospace fastener types: Hi-Lok bolts, NAS rivets, structural fasteners
- Torque-controlled fastening with as-installed torque recorded per fastener in aircraft assembly record
- FOD prevention materials, all robot components tracked, non-magnetic materials where near-structure contact occurs
- Integration with Airbus digital thread via Siemens Teamcenter
- AS9100 quality management compliance for robot maintenance documentation
Production and Commercial Status
- Mass production start: November 2025
- 2026 capacity: 5,000 units/year
- 2027 target: 10,000 units/year with Siemens
- Order backlog: 800M yuan ($112M) at launch, exceeds full 2026 production capacity
